Toast companion for a liquor well
Toast runs the tickets. Open house pours still need a count. ExactPour is the companion for casual bars and pubs, not a second POS.

Toast holds menus and tickets. It does not count open well bottles or reconcile those fills against what rang. ExactPour connects to Toast, imports sales, and compares them to a physical count for casual bars and pubs. It is a companion, not a second POS. POS sync is on Starter at $59 a month and during the trial.
Official connection for that location. Tokens sit in a vault. Everyday sync does not rewrite the menu.
House pours first. Unmapped vodka sodas make a careful count look like theft.
Close the rail. Projected usage from Toast meets the physical fills the next morning.
The problem
Food and retail items are units. A well vodka is an open bottle that leaves in ounces. Those are different jobs.
A house vodka soda that is not tied to the well SKU makes a careful count look like a crime.
Toast can show sales. Without a same-night count, liquor cost is a reconstruction.
The solution
Authorize Toast, map well drinks, count fill levels, and review poured versus sold. Keep ringing the way you already do.
Toast, Square, Clover, and GoTab are live.
Connect Toast, Square, Clover, or GoTab to a location. Menus and sales import on a schedule or when you ask. POS credentials are stored encrypted.
Map every drink to its ingredients.
Turn POS items into recipes with ounces per serving and auto-compute cost per serving from bottle price. Tracked items feed variance; untracked items surface as blind spots.
Scan once, count everything.
Scan any UPC with a phone or handheld, tap a fill level, and ExactPour aggregates scans per product and auto-computes volume in real time. Undo and inline edits keep counts honest.
Partial bottles, not just whole counts.
Every scan records a fill level from 0 to 1 and computes volume as size times fill, so you track real stock instead of rounding to the nearest bottle.
Surface the gaps. Explain them.
Items that drift beyond tolerance are flagged (>10% warning, >5% info). Close each out with a reason (breakage, theft, over-pour, measurement error) and notes.
Know the cost of every drink.
Cost per serving is computed from live bottle pricing and recipe ounces, so you see pour cost and margin per menu item and can price with confidence.

Use one connector page for Square, Clover, and GoTab if a sister room differs
We used to publish toast pos inventory integration. It was a thin clone of the POS hub and it 301s to POS integrations on purpose. This page is a different job: liquor inventory for rooms that already live in Toast. It is written for casual bars, pubs, and sports bars with a well. It is not a second copy of the four-brand connector guide.
If you need Square, Clover, or GoTab, stay on POS integrations. If you need the Toast-versus-ExactPour narrative for buyers comparing inventory modules, also read toast inventory vs exactpour. If you need the category pillar, use bar inventory software. This URL stays on the well-plus-Toast loop.
Toast is excellent at tickets, menus, service, and the till. Many of the rooms we want already trust it. ExactPour does not replace that. We do not rewrite your Toast menu as part of everyday sync. We authorize an official connection, import menus, categories, and sales, and store tokens in an encrypted vault. You can revoke access from the Toast side.
That is the sales half of liquor inventory. It is necessary and it is not sufficient. An open well bottle does not live in Toast as a fill level. A free pour does not decrement a sealed unit. If you only watch Toast item sales, you can have a busy Saturday and a light rail and no shared language for the gap.
You count. Scan a UPC, tap a fill from 0 to 1, close the session. ExactPour computes volume and shelf value as you walk. After Toast sales are mapped to recipes, projected usage is starting stock minus what should have poured. The difference is the liquor inventory conversation: overpours, comps, waste, mapping error, or something that still has no name.
Map well drinks first. House vodka soda, well gin and tonic, whiskey ginger, the rail modifiers. Unmapped items are the number one reason Toast rooms think the count is wrong. Then map the ten signatures that drive depletion. Then the rest. well liquor inventory is the well-only job. liquor inventory management is the broader liquor pillar.
Authorize Toast for the location. Import the menu. Build the product list by scanning the rail you already walk. Map the well. Close a count after a normal night, not after a holiday. Review unexplained dollars with the closer. That is the trial. POS reconciliation is on Starter at $59/month and up, and during the 14-day Pro trial. Free is counting only. See pricing.
Do not pause the floor for a dark-week implementation. Toast stays up. ExactPour sits beside it. If a second location rings Square, that room gets its own connector. Rollups compare reconciled dollars, not pasted weekly totals. multi location bar inventory covers groups after the first Toast room is honest.
Sports bars on Toast feel game day in the well before they see it in a weekly sales export. Pubs on Toast feel regulars comps the same way. Those rooms are why this page exists. sports bars and pubs speak to the calendar and the culture. This page speaks to the connector those rooms already bought.
If you are still counting in a sheet and pasting Toast exports, read bar inventory spreadsheet alternative. If shrinkage is the search you actually meant, read how to reduce liquor shrinkage. Keep this page when the question is: we already have Toast, why is the well still a mystery?
We will not claim ExactPour is Toast Inventory. We will not claim we place distributor orders as part of everyday sync. We will not claim a connection alone stops theft. A connection plus a finished count plus mapped recipes plus a Monday review is the loop. Skip any piece and you are back to a feeling.
We also will not revive the four thin POS clones. One hub for connectors. One deep page for Toast liquor. That split is how we avoid the impression drop that follows near-duplicate landers.
Start the 14-day trial, authorize Toast, and close one well count. Or read pricing if you want the tier map first. Book 30 minutes if you want a specialist on the mapping. Bring the closer who will actually scan. Leave the unused back bar bottles for week two.
Need the all-brand view after you understand the Toast job? POS integrations. Need pour cost math on the same tickets? pour cost control and pour cost calculator.
Toast menus are full of items that never should hit a bottle: cover charges, merch, gift cards, food. They are also full of items that should hit a bottle and do not: a well vodka soda hiding as a modifier, a brunch cocktail on a food menu, a pitcher that is one line with no recipe. ExactPour can only project usage for what you map. The first Toast liquor inventory job is not connecting. It is walking the menu with the closer and marking the twenty items that actually leave the well.
When a new seasonal item appears in Toast, map it the same week. When it disappears, archive the mapping. Operators who connect Toast once and never look at the menu again will get a clean dashboard of the wrong world. That is not a software failure. It is an unfinished companion loop. toast inventory vs exactpour is the narrative comparison. This page is the operating loop.
A group can run Toast in the sports bar and Square in the pub. ExactPour does not force one POS on the company. Each location gets its own connector. Rollups compare reconciled dollars after each room has a count and a map. Do not start with the rollup. Start with one Toast well. multi location bar inventory is the page after that well is honest.
If two rooms share a commissary liquor room, count that room as its own location or as a clearly named area with a transfer habit. Toast will not know that a case moved downstairs unless you record it. Unrecorded transfers are the other way Toast rooms invent theft. Name the move. Then count both ends. The hub at POS integrations stays the four-brand guide. This URL stays Toast plus the well.
The room rings 400 tickets on Toast. Well vodka is the default. The closer scans the rail in twelve minutes with fill levels. Morning shows well vodka short 1.8 liters versus mapped sales. Three brunch cocktails added last week were never mapped. After those recipes are attached, the gap falls to 0.4 liters. That is an overpour conversation, not a police conversation. Without the count, Toast only showed a record Saturday. Without the mapping, the count looked like a crime.
That is the whole reason this page exists. Toast liquor inventory is not a marketplace listing. It is a finished night plus a mapped menu plus a morning list. ExactPour will not promise that your gap will fall by a published percentage. It will keep the tickets and the fills in one product so you can see the drop when the mapping is fixed. sports bars is the room. pricing is the trial.
Authorize Toast. Scan the rail. Map twenty items. Close two nights. Review the top ten unexplained dollars. Do not rebuild the cellar. Do not invite the whole company into the account. Do not pause Friday service for training. If the closer cannot finish, the product failed. If Monday is a short list, you have a companion.
POS reconciliation is on Starter at $59/month and during the 14-day trial. Free is counting only, which is still useful while you wait to authorize Toast. See pricing. Keep ringing. Count the well. That is Toast liquor inventory as ExactPour ships it. If you want the plan map before you authorize anything, read pricing first and come back to this checklist the same week.
Toast support can help you authorize an app and check location permissions. They cannot count your well and they cannot tell you why well vodka is short. Do not open a Toast ticket that says the inventory is wrong because a bottle is light. That is the companion job. Open an ExactPour review with the count, the mapped item, and the night. Bring the closer. That is a solvable meeting.
If authorization fails, check that the Toast location you picked is the one that rings the well, not a ghost location from an old setup. Groups trip on this. The sports bar rings on location A and someone authorized location B because the name looked similar. Sales then look too small and the well looks stolen. Confirm the location name with the closer who actually rings Saturday, not only with the office login. POS integrations lists the authorize-map-reconcile pattern for every brand. This page is the Toast-specific failure stories next to that pattern.
