Beer inventory for rooms that also pour a well

Beer inventory software for packaged beer and kegs

Count cans, bottles, and nips by barcode. Treat sealed kegs as units. Draft yield and tap tracking stay out of scope, on purpose.

The week you already know

Why beer inventory splits into two jobs

Cans and bottles behave like retail SKUs. Draft kegs behave like a yield problem. Software that pretends those are the same walk will sell you a taproom tool you do not have, or skip the cooler that actually moves.

The cooler is a second storeroom

Packaged beer hides in reach-ins, patio tubs, and a back cooler nobody walks on inventory night. A well-only count misses it.

Draft is a different honesty problem

Keg yield, coupler type, and line waste are real jobs. ExactPour does not track them. We will not sell this page as a taproom keg system.

POS rings a different beer than the shelf

A seasonal tap or a six-pack UPC that never mapped will make a careful cooler count look like theft.

How it works

How beer inventory should run in a pouring room

01

Walk packaged beer first

Scan cans, bottles, and nips in the same unit system. Patio tubs and reach-ins count. Empty holes count as zero.

02

Record sealed kegs as units

If a keg has a barcode, scan it as a sealed unit. If it does not, write the brand and size. Do not estimate remaining draft ounces.

03

Reconcile what rang

Map packaged beer and bottled SKUs to Toast, Square, Clover, or GoTab. Leave tap yield to a tool that actually measures it.

Problem vs ExactPour

A cooler clipboard vs a finished beer count

Keep the walk through the packaged beer. Stop pretending draft yield is the same SKU list.

  • The Monday problem

Cans and bottles wait for a monthly case recount.

    With ExactPour

Scan packaged beer with the same session as the well.

  • The Monday problem

Sealed kegs are guessed from a tap list.

    With ExactPour

Count a sealed keg as a unit if it has a barcode. Do not invent yield.

  • The Monday problem

Draft software that ignores the liquor well.

    With ExactPour

ExactPour is for rooms that pour spirits and also sell beer.

What beer inventory software should mean in a pouring room

Beer inventory software is the cooler half of a bar that also pours a liquor well. Packaged beer (cans, bottles, nips, four-packs) is a barcode job. Draft beer and kegs are a yield job. Those are not the same walk. This page covers both so the search query has an honest home, not a recycled liquor pillar.

ExactPour counts packaged beer the way it counts the cage: scan the SKU, keep one unit system, finish the session. Draft is in writing here because operators type it. ExactPour does not offer keg tracking, tap yield, coupler inventory, or line-waste math. /keg-tracking and /solutions/draft-beer-keg-inventory stay 301d on purpose. /bar-inventory-software remains the category pillar.

Packaged beer: cans, bottles, and the cooler you actually finish

Treat packaged beer like retail units. Walk the reach-in, the back cooler, and the patio tub in the same order every time. Scan the UPC or pick the SKU. Count sealed units. An empty slot is a zero, not a hole you skip. /docs/bar-inventory-counting-basics is the method. /glossary/physical-inventory is the definition.

Mixed packs and nips need their own SKUs. A six-pack that rings as a single can will invent variance. Map the POS item before you coach the cooler. /pos-integrations is the four-brand hub. /bar-stocktaking is the weekly ritual that includes this walk.

Draft beer and kegs: what ExactPour will and will not do

A sealed keg on the rack is a unit. If it has a barcode, scan it. If it does not, write the brand and size in the session the same way you would write a case of well vodka that lost its UPC. That is inventory of sealed containers. It is not draft yield.

Draft yield needs remaining beer in an open keg, line waste, foam, and a coupler story. ExactPour does not measure those. We will not publish a fake keg-tracking feature to catch a beer inventory software query. Beer-only taprooms and breweries should look elsewhere. Sports bars and pubs that sell packaged beer beside a real well are in scope. See /industries/sports-bars and /industries/pubs.

How beer cost sits next to the liquor well

Packaged beer often runs a thinner pour-cost band than cocktails. That is mix, not failure. /glossary/pour-cost-band is why one house target hides a well problem inside a beer-heavy Saturday. /glossary/pour-cost is the formula after a counted period.

If the query is best bar inventory software, use /compare/best-bar-inventory-software. If the query is stocktaking apps for bars and clubs, use /bar-stocktaking. This URL stays on beer: packaged units you can scan, sealed kegs you can count, draft yield you should not expect from ExactPour.

Beer inventory questions

Does ExactPour track draft beer and keg yield?
No. ExactPour does not offer keg tracking, tap yield, coupler inventory, or line-waste math. You can count a sealed keg as a unit. /keg-tracking stays retired and 301s to /bar-inventory-software. This page exists so the beer query has an honest home.
What packaged beer can we count?
Cans, bottles, nips, and other sealed retail units with a barcode or a SKU you can identify. Treat them like the liquor cage: same session, same cutoff, same unit system.
Is this the same as bar inventory software?
No. /bar-inventory-software is the category pillar for the liquor well plus POS. This URL is the beer job: packaged beer in scope, draft honesty in writing. /bar-stocktaking is the weekly ritual.
Who is this page for?
Sports bars, pubs, and clubs that sell packaged beer beside a liquor well. Beer-only taprooms and breweries should look elsewhere. See /industries/sports-bars and /industries/pubs.
